The BSB20120 Certificate II in Workplace Skills is a nationally recognised qualification that provides learners with the foundation skills required to work effectively in a variety of entry-level business and administration roles. This course is ideal for people entering the workforce for the first time, returning to work, or looking to develop practical workplace skills that can be applied across a range of industries.
Throughout the course, students develop essential skills in workplace communication, digital technology, time management, workplace health and safety, personal wellbeing, and sustainable work practices. Learners gain hands-on experience using business software, operating digital devices, communicating professionally in the workplace, and preparing for employment opportunities. The qualification focuses on building confidence, professionalism, and work readiness while developing the knowledge required to perform routine administrative and business tasks under supervision.
Students will complete the following units:
- BSBWHS211 Contribute to the health and safety of self and others
- BSBTEC101 Operate digital devices
- BSBTEC201 Use business software applications
- BSBCMM211 Apply communication skills
- BSBTEC202 Use digital technologies to communicate in a work environment
- BSBOPS201 Work effectively in business environments
- BSBPEF202 Plan and apply time management
- BSBPEF201 Support personal wellbeing in the workplace
- BSBSUS211 Participate in sustainable work practices
- BSBPEF101 Plan and prepare for work readiness
Upon successful completion, graduates may pursue entry-level positions such as Office Assistant, Receptionist, Administrative Assistant, Clerical Assistant, Customer Service Assistant, or Administration Support Officer. This qualification also provides a pathway into further study, including the BSB30120 Certificate III in Business and other business-related qualifications.
Career Opportunities:
Office Assistant, Receptionist, Administration Assistant, Clerical Assistant, Customer Service Officer, Data Entry Clerk, Information Desk Attendant, and other entry-level business support roles.
