Course Description
This is a part qualification including units from the SIT20322 – Certificate II in Hospitality
- SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety
- SITHFAB025 Prepare and serve espresso coffee
This short course is aimed at job seekers and workers in tourism, hospitality and catering organisations that require or would benefit from a combined set of skills to work safely and effectively with food and beverages. Students will learn how to extract and serve espresso coffee beverages using commercial espresso machines, and learn personal hygiene practices to prevent contamination of food that might cause food-borne illnesses and how to follow predetermined organisational procedures to identify and control food hazards.
Students must wear enclosed shoes and safe clothing to participate in training.
