ICT20115 Certificate II in Information, Digital Media and Technology

Units of Competency 

  • ICTICT202 - Work and communicate effectively in an ICT environment
  • ICTICT201 - Use computer operating systems and hardware
  • ICTSAS206 - Detect and protect from spam and destructive software
  • ICTICT206 - Install software applications
  • ICTICT205 - Design basic organisational documents using computing packages
  • ICTICT103 - Use, communicate and search securely on the internet

Our Beyond Basic Computer Skills course and Being Safe and Secure Online course have been combined to further build knowledge on simple computer operations. It is suitable for (but not limited to) students who have completed the Introduction to Computers course. This course will cover a range of intermediate computing skills that will develop student’s confidence in performing tasks such as resume building, installing operating systems and solving basic software issues. You will also learn how to remain safe and secure on your computer and online.

Tech Savvy Seniors Programme

Course Description

Are you 60 years and over and want to learn about tablets, mobile smart phones and computers? Tech Savvy Seniors is an initiative of the NSW ageing strategy and is funded through a partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra which is designed to give seniors additional skills and confidence to use and adapt to new technologies. Various topics are offered in 2 hour group sessions. Seniors are welcome to attend as many times as required to confidently learn the technology skills needed for everyday life.

We welcome enquiries for group sessions customised for your organisation (must have a minimum of 8 students). 

Course Requirements:

Students must bring their own devices - laptops, USB flash drives, smart phones and tablets.   Classes dates and times are subject to change.  Please contact the College to confirms dates and times.

If you have never used a computer or struggle to understand and function a computer, our course will equip you with the knowledge and methods to confidently operate a computer either for your own personal use or for employment. You will be introduced to the world of computing, learning the basics of navigating around a computer, accessing and organising files and programs, sending and retrieving emails, using the internet, connecting digital media devices and applying basic security procedures and power management settings.

No prior computer knowledge is required to attend this course. Students need to bring a USB flash drive.
