Our Leisure and Lifestyle programmes in areas such as arts, health, languages and digital media offer members of the community opportunities to learn new skills, meet new people and try something different. Affordable technology training for seniors is also offered in group workshops to assist in up-skilling seniors in the use of mobile devices and online services.
Specific programmes are available providing support to disadvantaged groups such as refugees and students with language and literacy barriers, as well as individual tuition, traineeships, and customised vocational training and non-accredited training.
We pride ourselves on the quality of adult education and training courses which we deliver, and are recognised locally as a quality provider for Individual Support (Aged Care) training in particular. The College has its own dedicated aged care clinical skills room, which enables more comprehensive skills training, especially in manual handling. This improves students’ work readiness and the quality of their work experience overall. Our graduates are well regarded and a high proportion of our aged care graduates gain employment during or after their work placement.
Coffs Coast Community College is a member of Community Colleges Australia, which is part of a much larger network , Cooperative Learning Ltd, and through such collaboration, has access to a more extensive and diverse range of additional vocational and accredited training programmes, other skills and resources. This usually means our training can be more flexible, more responsive and often operate with smaller class sizes than larger training providers. For more information visit: https://cca.edu.au/
