I have been studying French with Louise Dollin at Coffs Harbour Community College since 2010. When I started, I was pleased to find that Louise’s method of teaching was quite different to the way that French was taught at high school. At school we relied very much on text books and written exercises. Louise, on the other hand prefers to put a greater emphasis on oral work. Of course grammar is a necessity but we spend a lot more time listening to the language and speaking it. Whilst there is no magic formula for learning a language, I am very happy with the approach taken by Louise and feel that I have made significant progress over the last three years.
