Course Description

Australian Qualifications Framework

MYOB is one of today’s most popular accounting packages, designed to assist you with managing the financial workings of a business. This course is suitable for a range of learner levels, whether you are looking to improve your employment opportunities, update your existing skills for your own business or workplace, or learn new skills to start a career change.
 
The course covers using the accounting program MYOB to set up a business, creating a Chart of Accounts, keeping track of accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, BAS, creating reports, exporting to Excel and much more. Students may choose to continue on to a MYOB Payroll course (subject to availability). 
  
Course duration: 4 weeks 2 sessions per week
Students must have basic computer skills and bookkeeping/accounting knowledge to attend this course
Students will need to bring a USB flash drive

Introduction to Computers

Course Description

Australian Qualifications Framework

If you have never used a computer or struggle to understand and function a computer, our course will equip you with the knowledge and methods to confidently operate a computer either for your own personal use or for employment. You will be introduced to the world of computing, learning the basics of navigating around a computer, accessing and organising files and programs, sending and retrieving emails, using the internet, connecting digital media devices and applying basic security procedures and power management settings.

This course covers the following unit of competency:
ICTICT101 Operate a personal computer

Course duration: 6 weeks 1 session per week
No prior computer knowledge is required to attend this course
Students need to bring a USB flash drive

Intermediate Computer Skills

Course Description

Australian Qualifications Framework

Our Beyond Basic Computer Skills course and Being Safe and Secure Online course have been combined to further build knowledge on simple computer operations. It is suitable for (but not limited to) students who have completed the Introduction to Computers course.

This course will cover a range of intermediate computing skills that will develop student’s confidence in performing tasks such as resume building, installing operating systems and solving basic software issues. You will also learn how to remain safe and secure on your computer and online.

This course covers the following units of competency :

  • ICTICT201 Use computer operating systems and hardware
  • ICTICT205 Design basic organisational documents using computing packages
  • ICTICT202 Work and communicate effectively in an ICT environment
  • ICTICT103 Use, communicate and search securely on the internet
  • ICTSAS206 Detect and protect from spam and destructive software
  • ICTICT206 Install software applications

Course Description

The demands of social media in culture have become an essential aspect of every business’s public presence. This course will teach you how to navigate and link your social media with your business contacts for marketing purposes. You will also investigate marketing features of various online social platforms such as Facebook Business Pages, LinkedIn, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, WordPress and Mail Chimp.

Course duration: 5 weeks 1 session per week - weekend workshops TBA
Some experience using social media is preferred
Suitable for administration staff who manage marketing tasks, entrepreneurs and small business owners
